Ubisoft presenta al mundo su arena shooter Tom Clancy's XDefiant

Ubisoft ya dejó claro que ayer era día de anuncio, y de uno relacionado con el universo Tom Clancy. A lo largo del día, cumplió su palabra, revelando al mundo Tom Clancy's XDefiant, un shooter multijugador que coge un poco de cada franquicia que hay bajo el sello de Tom Clancy.

Definido por sus responsables como un "un trepidante juego de disparos en arena gratuito que combina los intensos tiroteos con selecciones personalizadas y facciones especiales", el juego se centra en ofrecer batallas 6 contra 6 a través de modos como Dominación y Escolta. Promete, además, que "no habrá dos partidas iguales".

En cuanto a los personajes, los Defiants albergarán a las "facciones Wolves, Marginados, Limpiadores y Echelon", extraídas de todo el universo Tom Clancy y más allá. Además, Ubisoft seguirá añadiendo más rostros al reparto de personajes a medida que el juego vaya progresando en su desarrollo.

Sus responsables son los miembros del equipo de Ubisoft San Francisco y, en cuanto a una fecha de lanzamiento, permanece en el más absoluto misterio. No obstante, sí que sabemos que llegará a PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One y Xbox Series X|S y que, además, habrá una prueba cerrada en Estados Unidos y Canadá el 5 de agosto. Quieren y necesitan el 'feedback' de los jugadores para perfilar la experiencia y conseguir un buen shooter, y no van a dudar en recurrir a este tipo de pruebas.

Ubisoft first announced that it was going to reveal the next game to join the Tom Clancy universe yesterday, stating that a reveal would be due today. And now, we have that very announcement, as Tom Clancy's XDefiant has been officially shown off by the publisher.

The game is regarded on its website as a "free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions". The title is set to offer 6v6 combat spread over several modes such as Domination and Escort and promises that "no two matches will feel the same."

As for the characters, we're told that the Defiants will include "Wolves, Outcasts, Cleaners, and Echelon factions", from the Tom Clancy universe and beyond and that Ubisoft will continue to add to the playable cast as the game develops.

As for who is bringing this game to life, that is Ubisoft San Francisco, and as for a release date, we currently don't know. We do know however that the game will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series at launch, and that there will be a closed test in the US and Canada on August 5.
